Actress Shilpa Shetty's husband, businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested by the Mumbai police in connection with the case of a pornography racket busted by Mumbai police in February. The Mumbai Crime Branch Police arrested Kundra for allegedly making pornographic content and distributing it through mobile applications.
“The crime branch registered a case in February about the creation of pornography films and publishing them through some apps. After investigation, we have arrested Raj Kundra in the case as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding the case,” stated the press release issued by Mumbai Police.
Kundra was summoned for questioning by the property cell and he reached the office at 8 pm. He was arrested after questioning, said a police officer.
In the racket busted by the crime branch, the police had said women were lured into acting in pornographic movies with promises of roles in web series. Denying any wrongdoing, Raj Kundra had sought anticipatory bail in the case.
Shilpa Shetty married Raj Kundra in 2009 and they welcomed their first child, son Viaan Raj Kundra, in 2012. The couple welcomed their second child – a daughter named Samisha via surrogacy, last year.
