National Award-winning choreographer Siva Shankar Master is no more. The veteran dance master breathed his last at a private hospital Sunday evening after battling the deadly Covid-19. He was 72.
Sivasankar master was undergoing treatment at AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, where he breathed his last.He was reportedly in a critical condition as 75 per cent of his lungs were infected due to COVID-19. Shiva Shankar's wife and eldest son also tested positive of coronavirus. While his son is admitted to the hospital, his wife has quarantined at home. Actors Chiranjeevi, Sonu Sood and Dhanush had extended financial aid to the family for their treatment.
Sivasankar master forayed into films as an Assistant Choreographer with the 1975 Tamil film, Paattum Bharathamum. He turned choreographer with Kuruvikoodu in 1980. Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi, Ammoru, Venkatesh’s Suryavamsam, Magadheera, Arundhati and Baahubali The Beginning are some of his landmark movies as a choreographer. Sivasankar master was honored with the prestigious National Award for Best Choreography for Dheera Dheera song from Magadheera in 2011.
Sivasankar master made his acting debut with Simbu’s 2003 film, Alai. He appeared in movies such as Varalaru, N.T.R: Kathanayakudu, Sudigadu, Paradesi, Nene Raju Nene Mantri and Raju Gari Gadhi 3 to name a few.
