Kollywood actor Ajith Kumar has the second largest Tamil fan base after Rajinikanth in Tamil film Industry. Known for his simplicity and down to the earth nature, the 50-year-old actor is fondly called ‘Thala’ by his fans and followers. However, Ajith today requested everyone to stop calling him ‘Thala’.
The Mankatha actor issued a press release through his PRO Suresh Chandra, in which he made sure that he does not want any prefixes to his name. The Vedalam actor wishes to be called only as Ajith, Ajith Kumar or just AK.
“I henceforth wish to be referred to as Ajith, Ajith Kumar or Just AK n not as “Thala” or any other prefix b4 my name. I sincerely wish you all to have a beautiful life filled with good health, happiness, success, peace of mind and contentment forever. Love, Ajith (sic),” the actor wrote.
It was the 2001 film Dheena that gave Ajith the title ‘Thala’. It is worth mentioning that the actor does not have any social media profiles and frequently communicates through his PRO. He also dismantled his fan clubs in 2011 as some people misused his name for political gains.
