Film critic Kathi Mahesh, who had met with a road accident in Nellore on June 26, breathed his last at Apollo Hospital in Chennai on Saturday evening during the treatment. Katti Mahesh’s funeral was held at his hometown on Monday.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has now launched an investigation into Kathi Mahesh's death. According to sources, police officers questioned Mahesh's car driver, Suresh, about the events surrounding the road collision. Despite the fact that Kathi Mahesh suffered serious injuries due to accident, his driver was unharmed and is alive and well. Manda Krishna, the founder of the MRPS, expressed suspicions about Mahesh's death and suspected a conspiracy. He asked the AP government to intervene and ordered an investigation by a sitting High Court judge. In addition to Manda Krishna, Kathi Mahesh's father expressed worry, claiming that the hospital did not inform them of Mahesh's death before releasing the news to the media.

The Andhra Pradesh government agreed to Dalit leader Manda Krishna's request and ordered a police investigation into the matter. The driver was questioned by AP Police about how the collision occurred and why only Kathi Mahesh suffered serious injuries. According to reports, the driver explained that he was wearing a seatbelt, but Mahesh was not.
