DMK MLA’s son and six others killed as Audi rams into pole

In an unfortunate incident, seven people died after an Audi Q3 car rammed an electric pole dashed against the wall of a nearby building near in Koramangala's Mangala Kalyanamantappa at around 2.30 am, on Tuesday.

Among the dead were three women and son and daughter-in-law of a DMK MLA from Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The deceased were identified as son of DMK MLA from Hosur Constituency Y Prakash, his wife Dr Bindu, daughter-in-law of MLA Prakash, Karuna Sagar, Ishita, Dr Dhanusha, Akshay Goyal, Utsav and Rohith.

While six of the car occupants died on the spot, the seventh deceased breathed his last on his way to a hospital. The driver lost control of the speeding car and the airbags of the luxury vehicle did not open, leading to the death of all the travellers in the vehicle, the Audugodi Traffic Police said.

Pictures circulated in the media show that the high-end Audi car was completely damaged in the accident. The bonnet, the inside area of the car and even its wheels were completely damaged. The vehicle is registered in the name of Sanjeevini Blue Metal Company.

The police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the cause of the tragic incident.
