Neeraj Chopra made history on Saturday by becoming only the second Indian to win an individual Olympic gold medal in the men's javelin throw final at Ongoing Tokyo Olympics.
With his gold in the javelin final, Neeraj, 23, ended India's 121-year wait for an athletics medal. He'd thrown 87.03, 87.58, and 76.79 on his first three throws before fouling on his fourth and fifth.
Neeraj Chopra's gold medal is only the second for India in individual category after Abhinav Bindra, who bagged the top prize in the 19m Air Rifle shooting event in China.
