Suriya’s latest film ‘Jai Bhim’ got released on Amazon Prime Video and received praise as well as brickbats. The film talks about the custodial torture of Irular tribe members and it fumed problems with the Vanniyar community and the political party PMK.
Vanniyar Sangam even issued a legal notice to the movie team demanding that the makers tender an unconditional apology and remove scenes that they dubbed defamatory. Now, Vanniyar Sangam President Pu Tha Arulmozhi has filed a private complaint before the Second Judicial Magistrate in Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu seeking action against Suriya and director TJ Gnanavel for ‘tarnishing the reputation of the Vanniyar community through Jai Bhim.
Arulmozhi has named production house 2D Entertainment as accused number one, the 24 Actor as accused number two, Jyothika as accused three, Gnanavel as accused number four and Amazon as accused number 5.
